What is a Dental plan?

Dental insurance is coverage for your routine and scheduled services performed at a dentist.  These can include immediate benefits, however, most dental policies have a waiting period for major services.  Typically if a plan covers major services right away, it is at a lower percentage than a plan with a waiting period or may increase over time.

There are a few different options when it comes to dental insurance and they can work as a standard health insurance plan, with a copay for services, a deductible that needs to be met on non-routine visits, even coinsurance rates for services.  While others may use an indemnity approach that will reimburse for covered services at a benefits level you select.
